Computer Tech & Network Cabling/Home Technology Integration (HTI)

CTE Computer Repair & Network Cabling / Home Technology Integration

Two people work together at a desk, fixing a phone.
A student repairs a tablet with tools at a desk in a classroom.
A person works on the internal components of a computer tower.
A person in a red shirt works on wiring above a drop ceiling to install camera.
A person repairs a laptop, carefully working on the screen components.

Discover how technology works — and how to make it work better.

Our CTE Computer Technology programs prepare students for real-world careers in IT, networking, and electronics through hands-on learning and industry-based skills.

In Computer Repair, students explore how computers are built, how they operate, and how to diagnose and fix hardware and software issues. They’ll work with motherboards, storage devices, operating systems, and even microcomputers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi to create exciting tech projects.

In Network Cabling and Home Technology Integration, students learn how to design and install computer networks, connect wireless systems, and set up smart home technologies — including lighting, security, and entertainment systems.

Each 200-hour course combines classroom instruction with practical experience. Students who meet program requirements may also gain valuable work-based learning opportunities through partnerships with organizations such as Suffolk BOCES Technical Services, Suffolk County IT, and CPR Cell Phone Repair.

Start building the technical skills that power the modern world — right here at Wyandanch High School.
