BARBERING

CTE Barbering introduces students to fundamental barbering skills and essential industry knowledge. Students will explore the scientific aspects of the profession while developing foundational techniques. Topics covered include the history of barbering, anatomy and physiology, hair and skin structure, New York State safety and sanitation standards, professional image and communication, as well as hair cutting and braiding services. Learning is reinforced through hands-on activities, theory-based instruction, lectures, community service opportunities, and group discussions. Additionally, students will accumulate practical hours that count toward New York State licensing requirements.
